Description

Job Summary:

The Sales Development Specialist is responsible for searching, tracking, and developing sales opportunities via online plan-rooms. Provides leads & material list to outside sales reps (OSR). Handles customer requests for quotes, performs product take-offs, communicates lead times. Handles project related purchase orders, communicates with outside vendors.

Works independently or with minimal supervision 75% of the time.

Responsibilities

  • Using online tools and other services to create project leads to outside sales reps.
  • Receives customer requests for price quotations, purchase orders, order changes, adjustments, and cancellations directly from outside reps and customers.
  • Achieves and maintains rapport with customers and works to give them the best possible service.
  • Receives and prints plans for material take-offs.
  • Prepares quotes bases off material take-off performed
  • Provides submittal certifications, drawings and other product literature when requested.
  • Uses Great Plains to retrieve customer information, stock status information, product codes and to check the status of sales orders and purchase orders.
  • Handles the needs of outside sales representatives and customers by sales region.
  • Works closely with customer service and internal personnel regarding deliveries of scheduled shipments.
  • Maintains files of quotes and project leads.

Occasional Duties:

  • Coordinates with Quality Assurance Department to achieve and maintain DOT approvals in targeted states.
  • Communicates with civil engineers about product, and projects currently out to bid.

Requirements/Qualifications

  • Associates Degree and/or Bachelor’s Degree
  • Excellent computer skills; Excel, Web Searching
  • Strong communication skills via phone and email
  • Must be able to work independently, and keep on task with minimal supervision
